Please scroll down for more information regarding stay at Ayanandan and to read answers to common questions 😊
A stay hopes to encourage a realization that beyond our many thoughts there is always a stillness and peace at the core of our being that we can learn to shift our focus to and have our lives be expressed and manifested from. This is not necessarily exclusively done through formal practices such as sitting meditation or satsang but rather by being and ’living’ the meditative state – realising that stillness and silence is something that’s already within us. No formal practice is held except sharing silence and spontaneous satsang.
How many people are staying here?
To keep an atmosphere of stillness, harmony and joy there is an intention to welcome people with whom these words resonate deeply. Depending on the interest to visit at the moment there are typically between 2-5 people at the same time.
A few words about how Ayanandan came about:
Ayanandan manifested from a fifteen year meditation and advaita practice that culminated in a two months meditation experience where stillness stayed. The last seven years have included holding silent retreats in Sweden on a regular basis.
What does a day look like?
A little word picture of what a usual stay and day often includes: inviting the natural flow of life, time and space for reconnecting with yourself, sharing meditation or time on your own, going for walks in nature, existential talks and sharings, plant based meals, doing what inspires you in your own time and pace, visiting and exploring the beautiful nature of Sweden and practicing living meditation.
Is it possible to have a video call before a stay?
Yes, calls are almost always held before a stay. It’s a great way for you to get a feel for if this experience is something for you. The call is just a casual conversation that often times includes plenty of silence, so please feel free to let go of any pressure to talk / carry the conversation unless you actually feel like doing so.
Are there any costs?
As no work is required or expected you are kindly asked to cover your own food expenses (and sometimes accommodation depending on availability). This will of course be discussed in detail before a potential stay.
Ayanandan is now held outdoors in different locations around the world depending on a suitable climate for the season. Last season of winter 2022 was held in Portugal, this season of summer 2024 will also be held in Portugal. It is still possible to visit the property in Sweden before the spring/summer season starts.
